Our  current main area of research in Xenopus:    Localisation of specific mRNAs into the Mitochondrial Cloud during early stages of oogenesis, and to the vegetal cortex at later stages .                    We have also previously worked on the mechanisms of... Cortical rotation,  responsible for the reloation of dorsal determinants from the vegetal pole to one side of the fertilised egg during the first cell cycle . Mitosis related movements which contribute to the progressive concentration of germ plasm around the vegetal pole of the early embryo
